Volunteer Opportunities

 

Below are various ways to volunteer to support the Highlander Band. Sign up for one or many! 

 

MEAL + CHAPERONE CREW:

Champions need to eat! And teens need to be chaperoned. We need 1 volunteer to help distribute meals and clean up in the band hall before away games. Time commitment is 30-45 minutes.

Teens need to be chaperoned! Experience behind-the-scenes access! We need 3 chaperones to ride on the bus with students, manage the snacks, and supervise students at each football game/competition. For football games, chaperones must arrive at HPHS before 3 PM and remain with students until return to school late evening. For contests, chaperone duties are full day (prelims and finals).

BLUE CREW:

Parents, be a part of the COOLEST crew around! Volunteer for the Blue Crew. The Blue Crew provides on field assistance to the band during marching season at football games and competitions. Volunteer once OR every week. Please join the Blue Crew Chat in the Band App to stay in the loop. If you have any issues accessing this link, please sign into your Band app first.  Sign up opportunities will be posted there once the season starts.

SCOTS ILLUSTRATED SALES:

Scots Illustrated Sales bring in much needed funds to the Highlander Band and volunteering is a fun and easy way to help the band while socializing with friends and being at the front of the stadium where the band makes their grand entrance. We have home game signups divided by Band Together sections: 

  • 9/11 vs. Tyler - Percussion Parents
  • 9/25 vs. Naaman Forest - Euphonium, Trombone, Color Guard, and Non-Marcher Parents
  • 10/9 vs. RL Turner (Blue Out Game/Senior Night) - Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and Saxophone Parents
  • 10/30 vs. Birdville - Sousaphone, Mellophone, Trumpet, and Flute Parents
